Formation of the Association Kitchen
Association Kitchen is an art project by Seraina Dür and Bernese associations, in collaboration with the Bern Museum Quarter and the Commission for Public Art of the City of Bern.
The Museum Garden of the Future
The project "Association Garden" started at the Summer Festival of the Bern Museum Quarter in August 2022. Together with the festival visitors, the artist Seraina Dür searched for associations from Bern. In the end, the following five associations participated in the project: Atelier Rohling, Chor der Nationen Bern, faunaberna, Junge Bühne Bern and the Verein am See.
On five evenings, visions for the future garden of the Bern Museum Quarter were created with one association each. Together with Seraina Dür, the association members developed five models for the museum garden during a dinner, discussions, and games.
The models were on display until the end of March 2023 as part of a special exhibition at the Schützenmuseum. During a public garden gathering in February 2023, the five associations got to know each other and searched for commonalities and possible implementations in their models.
A joint experimentation
Through the associations, the needs and desires of the population of Bern regarding the future use of urban space are gradually tested together. This initiates a transformation of the garden in the Bern Museum Quarter, which is supported by all participants. Association Kitchen – an art project by Seraina Dür and Bernese associations, in collaboration with the Bern Museum Quarter and the Commission for Public Art of the City of Bern.
