The ALPS is all about people and mountains. With a constant stream of surprising exhibitions and events, it invites visitors to engage in a lively and eventful dialogue on social issues. Far beyond the Alpine arc.

The ALPS focuses on issues wherever society is on the move. There might not be any easy answers, but we still need to talk about things: about the environment, nature, and climate change, and about the relationship between the urban and alpine worlds. While ALPS is open to all points of view, it is anything but neutral: With its exhibitions and events its aim is to inspire lifeworlds that are creative and constructive – not just for society but for every single one of us too. ALPS wants to get people – and things – moving.

The ALPS constantly surprises with new formats, artistic, participative, with points of contact for those experienced in culture as well as for a younger audience, families and school classes. It maintains a collection of Alpine cultural assets and acts as a platform for people and organisations that deal with mountains. The ALPS has its own restaurant, which can also be opened to groups in the evening.
