Kunsthalle Bar (in the summer)

The bar was built in 2018 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Kunsthalle Bern and is in operation during the summer months thanks to the approval of the city of Bern. Module #5 is a walk-in sculpture designed by Lang/Baumann and a spatial extension of the Kunsthalle. Its elements reference the interior design of the historic building: the floor plan with the beveled corners recalls the layout of the main hall, and the black-and-white patterned tiles imitate the former characteristic tiled floor of the foyer. The floating platform surrounds a large tree, creating an open space that offers a panoramic view of the Aare and the old town.
