Swiss Shooting Museum
The Swiss Shooting Museum brings together history, culture, and sport. The newly designed permanent exhibition showcases the unique collection and invites visitors to explore the vibrant tradition of shooting sports through interactive elements – from historical highlights to modern perspectives.
The Swiss Shooting Museum, located in the heart of Bern, is a place where history, culture, and sport come to life. Founded following the Federal Shooting Festival of 1885, the museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich tradition of Swiss shooting sports. It houses one of the most significant collections on the history of shooting, including trophies, historical weapons, posters, and other intriguing exhibits that document the social, technical, and cultural evolution of the sport.
The newly redesigned permanent exhibition, opening in autumn 2025, will offer visitors interactive elements, captivating stories, and insights into the role of shooting sports as a popular activity, an Olympic discipline, and a cultural heritage. Hands-on stations, a child-friendly interactive trail, and modern multimedia displays will make the museum an engaging experience for the whole family.
The Shooting Museum blends tradition and innovation, inviting visitors to explore the past, reflect on the present, and envision the future of this fascinating tradition. Whether you are visiting as a family, a history enthusiast, or a sports lover, you will find something for everyone and be warmly welcomed.
