Whether it’s learning materials, books, games or boxes of media and materials – at PHBern’s Helvetiaplatz 2 site, teachers will find a broad selection to use in their lessons. New materials are also produced and tested in Maker Corner. What’s more, exhibitions, events and teaching workshops are held on a regular basis. Welcome!

Plenty of options under one roof

Helvetiaplatz is home to PHBern University of Teacher Education’s cross-reality media centre (XRM). PHBern is one of Switzerland’s largest universities of teacher education, offering training and continuing professional development for teachers and school management staff, and working on research and development. The XRM is a service centre, combining the Mediothek media library, Maker Corner and the media and advice service for ethics, religion and community (ERG) under one roof. It supports and inspires teachers when planning their lessons by providing innovative and practical teaching materials – both analogue and digital. In Maker Corner, innovative tools are tested and produced for the classroom – from a 3D printer or a stop-motion film through to robots to use in lessons. Last but not least, events, exhibitions and flea markets are held regularly to entice teachers to visit.

The XRM has made a name for itself as an in-person and virtual hub for educators to exchange ideas.
